You have something playing on your Mac. Your friend has a phone. Together lets them join your Live from a browser, without installing the iPhone app.

Start with a friend connection

Open Together in Nimbus on your Mac by swiping up on the notch. On the website, sign in and open People. Create an invite code and send it to your friend. They can enter the code in their Together account to connect with you.

Use separate accounts when listening with a friend. Sign in with your own account on your phone when you want to listen to your own Mac.

Start the Live on your Mac

Open Together and start sharing system audio. Play the audio you want to share, then keep the Mac awake and connected. Live carries your computer's sound, so check other apps and notifications before you start.

Join from a phone or another computer

  1. Open Together in the browser and sign in.
  2. Find the host in your friends or Live list.
  3. Press Join to start listening. Opening the page alone does not start the audio.

A listener does not need to open the same song in another music app. This is a live audio stream from the host, rather than a link to a track.

If you cannot hear anything

First check that the host is still sharing and that their Mac is actually playing sound. On the listening device, check the output volume and selected headphones. On an iPhone, also try turning off silent mode. Leave and rejoin the Live if the connection has stalled.

Expect some delay between the host and listener. Network conditions affect that delay, and a sleeping Mac cannot continue hosting normally. Share audio you have permission to share.
